Relationships to celebrate

I met up with two friends today. Each with different relationship problems. One decided to separate and met a new beau. The other was counselled to talk issues through and make up.

Some relationships would be better ended and others would be carefully nurtured and managed.

Regardless, past and present relationships with yourself and others, should be celebrated. I believe all experiences help us to grow and teach us something about ourselves.

Today, I celebrated the marriage of 17 years to my husband. We have worked hard for all those years as a married couple – negotiated, compromised and managed. It is entirely reciprocal (not a strict give & take kind of way) and balanced in a way that made both of us to change (for the better we hope).

If you’re looking for a partner, look out for someone who is willing to let go of his/her most precious things for the sake of your time together as a couple. That seems to be a good indicator of how committed one is to one’s relationship.

Have a great week.
