What kind of emotional response do you want to create in order to build a brand that resonates with your chosen audience?
That was my question to you in my last dispatch.
I often hear people say they want to create a professional brand. That’s a given. We don’t merely wish for our doctor to be trained and qualified as a doctor because that’s to be expected. Equally, we need to look beyond the most obvious qualities people expect from professionals.
What are the steps then?
In order to create a brand that has real emotional resonance, we start with looking deep into ourselves:
- What kind of personality do we have?
- What are our personal values?
- What are our character strengths?
- And finally, what are the stories we tell ourselves about business, money, people, and life in general?
You may or may not have looked deeply into these areas about yourself. If you’re thinking about brand-building, I recommend this as your first step.
Next, write down what surprised you from looking into all of these critical aspects of self. Write down your new insights and anything else you learned. Keep a record of the results of your investigation, because this work is not done once.
What’s the next step after all this? Keep an eye on this space and I’ll have more for you in the next dispatch :)
