Time to Cull

I don’t know what to wear!

I hear that often from women whether they are having a photoshoot with me or not. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the case of the photoshoot, fear not as Jillian or/and I tell you exactly what to wear based on your personal style, your existing wardrobe, your body shape and your personal colour palette. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
In the case of day to day life…hmmm

You don’t know what to wear? This means you have too many things in your wardrobe.

For someone like Jillian, the question would be more like “What shall I wear today?” with a happy quizzical face not with the exasperated look if you could picture it.

That is simply because working out what to wear is a joyous part of her life as a stylist. However, for most of us, suffering from daily decision fatigue, working out what to wear and having frustration is unnecessary stress, to say the least.

If you’re in agreement with me there’s only one thing to do.

It is time to cull. (donate, throw away and only keep things that give you joy – Listen to Marie Kondo)

Create a capsule wardrobe with only the things that you love.⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My client, Sue-Anne has it almost perfectly. Because of her lifestyle, she has a fairly limited number of outfits. She was very pleased to find out after her session with Jillian that all her outfits were on point for her colourway, for her body shape and style. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
I must confess. I have an absolutely humongous wardrobe. Partly because the majority of them is for the studio – specifically for clients. So I would like to claim! ⠀⠀⠀⠀

However, starting July this year, I’ve fully embraced Marie Kondo method and I started culling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Spring is upon us. If you feel the decision fatigue creeping up in the wardrobe department it might be wise to start creating your very own capsule wardrobe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
If you feel truly stuck get in touch with my stylist @h4ppyjilly who is so loved by all my clients and beyond. That’s only if you’re based in Perth though. :)

Until next time then.
