Pricing – Empathy and Matching

Two basic things to share with you on pricing:

  • Empathy towards those who are paying for your service. What you believe something is worth x isn’t the same as how others believe. How you perceive the value of your work, in other words, can be very different from how your customers value it.
  • Matching your brand with pricing. If you’re asking for $$$$, your brand needs to match. How do you find out? Don’t merely trust your judgement. You must test. Do work to match your brand to your pricing but ultimately if you find the very first person pay for the service and the second (by actually asking for money) you’ll know.
